CANYONS

The “Canyons” were inspired by the limestone rock formation I saw on the western shores of New Zealand in the Panakaiki Region.  The limestone has been eroded and sliced by the crashing seas upon its shore.  Repeated vertical patterns are created in an almost regular even rhythmic dance.  Large walls of undulating surfaces were reflecting in the sun as we arrived upon the scene at sunset.  I couldn’t help but feel the forces of nature and the power and depth of nature’s strength.  I drew from this powerful geological formation, a lesson to try to keep an even rhythm to my life’s pattern.
