Forged from an amalgam of disparate contemporary fragments and chards of clay, Barbara Sorensen’s organic triangles emphasize the interrelationship of the earth’s Metals and the timelessness of the artistic process. The embedded, crumbling objects (rings, cones, arrowheads) in the “Fragments” series are reminiscent of stone processes used by ancient sculptors - processes Sorensen resurrects in a modern context.
